-
The student and their instructor will spend the first lesson figuring out where the student’s interests lie and exactly at what point they are in their musical journey. Also, it will need to be determined if your instructor will be the right fit for you (and vice versa). You will have an opportunity to ask any questions you may have. You should come prepared with your instrument and any accessories you like.
-
Everyone is different, and as a result everyone’s individual lesson will be different. Your instructor will teach you according to your interests and skill level. By doing it this way, your lessons will be more enjoyable and you’ll find greater motivation to stay committed. Maybe you are looking to become a professional, or maybe you’re just looking for a new hobby. Either way, you’ll get personalized lessons to help you achieve your goals.
With this being said, there are things that are fundamental to understanding music which all instrumentalists should know regardless of style. Due to this, beginners get a similar type of curriculum and as each student grows, the lessons become more and more personalized. If the instructor feels that an intermediate or advanced student is lacking knowledge in some fundamentals, the instructor may go back and cover them properly.
-
If you are willing to put forth the effort into these lessons, you will learn a lot. Our instructors have a lot of patience for students who try their best and practice. You will get out of these lessons what you put in. Our promise to you is you will be given every opportunity to succeed!
All students regardless of their ability and interests are all expected to practice and come prepared each week. Everything that is covered will build upon itself. Therefore it is very difficult to move on in your lessons if a student has not learned or practiced material from the week before.
-
Lessons are usually given once a week in 1 hour increments, and occasionally ½ hour lessons are given (recommended for younger students). The times for which are based on instructor’s availability and your preferences.
Due to transfer times between students (setting up/packing up) lessons may not start/end exactly on the hour. Please give your instructor some grace in this respect.
-
Lessons cost $50 per hour lesson, and $25 for half hour lessons. This equates to $200 per month for hour lessons, and $100 for half hour and bi-weekly lessons in a regular 4 week month. Although lessons take place weekly, they must be committed to on a monthly basis. You will be charged via the card on file once a month from your start date.
You pay the same price per month, regardless of if there are five lesson weeks in the month or three (for months with holidays). This way it’s evened out, and keeps things consistent for everyone.
-
Lessons can either be rescheduled or credited on to the next month (limit one credit per month). To be eligible for either option, we must be notified by at least the day before your lesson. Letting us know the day of forfeits the lesson fee. If you fail to show up for your scheduled lesson, you will not be entitled to a rescheduled lesson or a credit. A lesson that has already been rescheduled will not be rescheduled a second time. If an instructor has to cancel on you for any reason within a day of your lesson, you will receive a lesson credit or a reschedule should you choose. If you are late to a lesson, that time will not be made up.
Should you decide to quit taking lessons, please let us know ahead of time (preferably before you begin your last month). We cannot provide refunds should you decide to quit cold turkey and cancel your remaining lessons.
